Closers

Corbin Russwin makes a number of closer models, but only two are widely distributed.

• DC3210
• DC6210

Both models look alike from the outside and even when you take off the cover it's hard to tell the two apart.

There are no markings on the closer body to distinguish the models and the body will not even have the Corbin Russwin brand name in the casting.

If you had both models in front of you and could weigh them on a scale, you would find the DC6210 is heavier.  That is because the inner workings are heavier duty as it is made for high traffic applications.

Still, the DC3210 is the bigger seller by far.  It is a universal closer that can be used on most any door in a building.  This model is reasonably priced, non-handed and meets ADA requirements.

You'll often see the two models mixed within a single building.  The bulk of the doors will use DC3210 but the highest traffic doors (front doors) will take DC6210.  Both models use the Quick Mount bracket shown below, and measuring the bolt hole pattern on this bracket is the best method of verifying you have a Corbin Russwin closer.
