Exit DevicesCorbin Russwin makes 5 styles of devices
The rim style device for single doors is model ED5200. Vertical rod versions are available for double doors and a mortise lock version is available as well. When used on fire-rated doors the exit device must also be fire-rated. Corbin Russwin adds A, B, or C to the model for different ratings of device. The most commonly ordered is the A rating, which is a 3 hour rating. B is for 1-1/2 and C 1 hour. We stock the A version, the others are factory order. Keeping track of the models and fire ratings is a little confusing the the Corbin Russwin catalogs help a great deal to sort things out.
Exit device trims are add-on options. They are not required and best thought of as a ''bolt-on'' accessory. Because trims come in different functions, they are similar to locks. Passage, Classroom and Storeroom are the common trim functions. But unlike locks, exit device trim is always sold without the cylinder. You must purchase it separately. Add it all up and you're left with the fact that ordering exit devices of any brand is confusing. Feel free to call our toll-free number and we'll help sort out the confusion. You can always go to our site dedicated to Corbin Russwin products and view the data sheets. They are shown on the right hand side of each page. |
